"I appeal to succeeding Princeton AlumniCorps classes to always remember that at the founding of Project 55, the emphasis was on systemic justice. We discussed around the table the difference between justice and charity, and while recognizing the importance of charitable activities, we believed that a project to prevent injustice in the first place is the more efficient and humane priority. That civic philosophy was in our charter. May you all extend this philosophy as a guiding light when you confront the perils of the future. Keep the flame alive. Spread this wonderful model of alumni solidarity to other colleges and universities whenever you can. Thank you."
—Ralph Nader, '55
We would also like to acknowledge the two very generous legacy gifts of the Class of '55 and The Class of '55 Foundation this year. In the words of Scott McVay at our 1st Annual Reunions Open House in May, "...we salute the scores of '55er classmates who have actively given of their time, treasure and heart to making Princeton Project 55 endure through Princeton AlumniCorps.”
